Sri Gana’s logo is influenced by the cultural aspect of Ancient India, where the wood press is called the ‘Gana (ಗಾಣ).’ The community of oil pressers called the Gaanigas had the technical prowess of how best to extract oil from nature in a way that was healthy and efficient at the same time. This knowledge passed down their generations as their most cherished and well guarded skill earned the trust of many for aeons altogether. In the method practiced in their culture, Two beams of wood, one fixed to the ground and the other to the bovine creature(s) from the important part of the structure used to extract oil. Seeds from which the oil is obtained are placed on the ground in between both beams. The bovine creatures are made to walk around the pole fixed to the ground. This crushes the seeds, in turn extracting the oil.

Although rare to witness with the advent of modern techniques, this method can still be spotted in some pockets of rural India..
